Family History Season
Updated: Mar 19
Let's face it, when many of us envision delving into our family history, we are seated in front of a computer, searching for names of ancestors to jot down on a pedigree chart. Or perhaps memories come flooding back to that time dear Aunt Bethany cornered you for what seemed like an eternity, telling you of her latest genealogy find about an ancestor who lived next door to a famous figure.
Admittedly, that is family history in its most basic form. Family history served up, devoid of any flavor, and over done to the point of being dry and tough to swallow. Just as a dish requires salt, herbs, oils, and various flavors to be truly appetizing, so does family history.
For many, delving into their family tree can initially feel overwhelming, not knowing where to even start. Sometimes, it might seem as though your tree is fully grown, leaving you with nothing more to uncover. However, the beauty of genealogy lies in its vast array of avenues to be explored. The truth is, there's always something to be done in the realm of genealogical pursuits. It's just that these tasks might not always resemble the conventional image of family history that you're accustomed to.
